Counselling Psychotherapy for Low Mood & Depression
What would it be like to experience an empathic motivating vitality, a healing energy from within which would change your entire view of your life for the better?
It is estimated that one in ten, that is 450,000 people in Ireland are affected by Depression. Although this figure is incredibly high, it serves to remind us that we are not alone in our sadness and pain. Our communities are filled with many people who may appear to be engaged and enjoying life on the outside but who are existing behind a facade of self-isolation and anguish.
Many people struggle with Low Mood at some stage throughout their lives and whilst sometimes the reason behind it is obvious, often it is less so. Chemical imbalances in the body may trigger depression but it may also be our response to overwhelming feelings. Sometimes low mood or depression may be the result of periods of change in our life such as the end of a relationship, unemployment, an accident or illness, all of which may leave us feeling particularly challenged or really angry – an anger that is often difficult to express.
Sometimes people try to manage their low mood or depression by turning to varied forms of unhelpful behaviours or substance abuse. In some cases suicidal thoughts leave the person feeling incapacitated, worthless and extremely vulnerable.
Remember, help and support is always at hand.
