About this workshop
We are all familiar with the search for decision. Major life-span decisions are required of us in areas such as our education, our relationships, perhaps in family planning and around our health and lifestyle. Countless smaller daily decisions are required almost incessantly. We make many decisions almost automatically without much deliberation or consequence, but others may leave us feeling ‘stuck’, a feeling that may perhaps stay with us for years.
This workshop will introduce you to and discuss topics in the group such as;
- A general consideration of what may be behind our indecision and ambivalence.
- A brief introduction to ‘Motivational Interviewing’ and ‘The Wheel of Change’
- How to transform our ambivalence into positive change.
- An exploration of our relationship with nature – and how it can support us in our decision making.

Attending the Ecotherapy Hedge School
The original Ecotherapy Hedge School is situated in the secluded and beautiful hills of southwest county Dublin but most workshops are facilitated in the great expanse of the Phoenix Park.
What to bring
Check the weather and dress accordingly – ‘it’s not a fashion show’ so wear layers of whatever you feel comfortable in. The Hedge School is situated to enjoy the sun so you may need sun cream, cap, or sunglasses. Whilst there is some shelter available, we are open to the elements as we are outdoors so wear comfortable walking footwear in the knowledge that we may be walking in some mud if it has been wet and through long grass etc. Bring a light lunch/snack and plenty of water for your picnic break. If you like to journal, make diary entries, take notes or sketch, feel free to bring along your writing or creative material. Most important of all – bring yourself as you are.

11.15 Group walks together to the Ecotherapy Hedge School (c20min walk). Mindful check in with participants, group guidelines and workshop outline. Interactive workshop discussion by David Staunton. Interactive workshop ecotherapy exercise. Opportunity for Journaling/Individual Reflection. Group Reflection including Q and A. Picnic Break.

The Walk Inniú Ecotherapy Hedge School is open to all adults over the age of 18. However, given that the Hedge School is deliberately sited to be part of the natural environment, it is accessed over rough pathways and/or farmland. Our apologies to those of you who may have mobility issues and therefore would find access unsuitable, however please contact us as we do have various approved routes which may be more suitable to your needs.
