With almost 30 years of Mindfulness experience, Niall Nolan, a mindfulness teacher now in his 4th year on the Masters Degree Program in Teaching Mindfulness Approaches at the Centre for Mindfulness, Research and Practice, School of Psychology, Bangor University, Wales, will introduce the Hedge School group to Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) and Mindful Movement and Meditation. Both Niall and David Staunton will expand on the relevance of nature in mindfulness and David will introduce the group to the concept of the ‘ecological unconscious, a development by Roszak of the Jungian ‘collective unconscious’.
Despite the sound of the somewhat weighty and complex topics up for discussion at this workshop, the co-facilitators, as always at Walk Inniú Hedge School will strive to ensure a positive and light-hearted learning environment.

The original Ecotherapy Hedge School is situated in the secluded and beautiful hills of southwest county Dublin but most workshops are facilitated in the great expanse of the Phoenix Park.
Check the weather and dress accordingly – ‘it’s not a fashion show’ so wear layers of whatever you feel comfortable in. The Hedge School is situated to enjoy the sun so you may need sun cream, cap, or sunglasses. Whilst there is some shelter available, we are open to the elements as we are outdoors so wear comfortable walking footwear in the knowledge that we may be walking in some mud if it has been wet and through long grass etc. Bring a light lunch/snack and plenty of water for your picnic break. If you like to journal, make diary entries, take notes or sketch, feel free to bring along your writing or creative material. Most important of all – bring yourself as you are.
