Love and Relationships

Nurturing and developing the relationships in your life - with yourself,
your family and friends, your lover and the natural world.
“You didn’t come into this world. You came out of it, like a wave from the ocean. You are not a stranger here.” — Alan Watts
About this workshop

Whether in a relationship, or looking for a relationship – you begin to notice the same challenging patterns emerging. Feeling stuck, scared or bored, why is this happening?
The desire to really connect with another human being is universal – yet can prove deeply challenging for many of us. Complex dynamics are at play when we attempt to become close to another and we often respond in our relationships with unhelpful learned behaviours.
For many people, relationships may evoke intricate confusion, ambivalence and feelings of loss, anger, sadness, insecurity or anxiety.
This workshop facilitated by David Staunton, will support you in understanding that there is a place for everyone and everything in nature. Ecotherapy teaches us of the interconnectedness of all things and all beings. This can support people significantly in as we learn how to further connect and ‘belong to’. Above all it supports us as we choose healthier attachments in our relationships.

This workshop will introduce you to and discuss topics in the group such as;

  • What is love? What do we mean by love? Does love exist?
  • Boundaries.
  • A basic introduction to Attachment theory and how this may guide us.
  • Evaluating what we want when we talk about love and our relationships.
  • An exploration of how our relationship with nature can support us in our human to human relationships.

To support you consolidate your learning, you will also receive:

  • Your Ecotherapy Hedge School Welcome Pack PDF.
  • A PDF summary of the workshop emailed to you on completion.
  • Suggested further reading – for your interest.
  • A Certificate of Attendance.
  • Support from David should you require it with any process issues which may arise for you from the workshop by contacting him at davidstaunton@walkinniu.ie

Attending the Ecotherapy Hedge School

Venue

The original Ecotherapy Hedge School is situated in the secluded and beautiful hills of southwest county Dublin but most workshops are facilitated in the great expanse of the Phoenix Park.

What to bring

Check the weather and dress accordingly – ‘it’s not a fashion show’ so wear layers of whatever you feel comfortable in. The Hedge School is situated to enjoy the sun so you may need sun cream, cap, or sunglasses. Whilst there is some shelter available, we are open to the elements as we are outdoors so wear comfortable walking footwear in the knowledge that we may be walking in some mud if it has been wet and through long grass etc. Bring a light lunch/snack and plenty of water for your picnic break. If you like to journal, make diary entries, take notes or sketch, feel free to bring along your writing or creative material. Most important of all – bring yourself as you are.
